Controls Engineer

We are recruiting for an industry-leading manufacturer who are developing a highly automated production facility in Gisborne. As part of their ongoing development, they are adding a Controls Engineer to the existing team.

Responsibilities

• Analyse plant functionality: record and analyse production, identify improvements and coordinate delivery.
• Design, implement and maintain automation and controls.
• Drive plant improvement and development with available budget.
• Program PLCs (Omron) and 20+ robots in the plant.
• Collaborate with a team of 5‑8 engineers focused on plant optimisation.

Qualifications

• 1‑5 years experience in automation & controls.
• PLC programming and HMI configuration; no bias towards a particular vendor.
• Degree qualified or industry‑experienced.
• Hands‑on attitude willing to roll up sleeves and help others.
