Copy Reader

Responsibilities

• Ensures that the text matches the original; spelling and style are correct and consistent; page numbers, headings and captions are correct; photos and illustrations are correctly captioned
• Corrects spelling and stylization of documents using client's typesetting requirements, and punctuation conventions; ensuring accuracy and consistency
• Ensures implementation of client updates
• Reports quality findings

Qualifications

• BA degree in English, Journalism, or related field preferred
• Good working knowledge of MS Office Applications and acrobat reader, including file management through Windows Explorer
• Two years of experience proofreading or editing text; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
• Working knowledge of XML publishing production workflow / systems an advantage...
