Coxswain

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Coxswain to support unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Operate and navigate boats and other watercraft.
+ Ensure the safety of passengers and crew onboard.
+ Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the vessel.
+ Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vessel readiness.
+ Adhere to maritime laws and regulations.
+ Monitor weather conditions and adjust plans accordingly.
+ Handle docking and mooring operations safely.
+ Operate and maintain navigation and communication equipment.
+ Coordinate with port authorities and other vessels.
+ Manage emergency situations and perform rescues if necessary.
+ Keep accurate logs of trips, maintenance, and incidents.
