Director

IPPNW-GLO is a Geneva-based non‑profit association founded in February 2023 to advance the mission of IPPNW, a global non‑partisan federation of national medical organizations dedicated to research, education, and advocacy relevant to the prevention of nuclear war and the promotion of peace. IPPNW is a registered US charity with headquarters in Boston.

Founded by US and Soviet physicians in 1980, IPPNW was winner of the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize. It is the founding member organization of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), winner of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize, and continues to serve on the ICAN Steering Group. IPPNW has ECOSOC status at the United Nations, is in Official Relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) and works closely with international health and civil society groups, many of whom are located or have a presence in Geneva.
