Role Description

Yellowknife Education District No. 1 invites applications for the following position: 
High School Humanities Teacher School Ecole Sir John Franklin High School 
Grades 9 to 12 
Employment Full-Time (100% FTE) 
2026/2027 School Year 
Minimum Requirements Bachelor of Education Degree and NWT Teacher Certification. 
Preferred Qualifications Understanding of competency based education 
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 
Background in, or experience teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies 
Experience teaching at the Secondary level 
Understanding of universal design for learning 
Understanding of backwards design 
Understanding of triangulation of evidence of learning
