Jr Planner Estimator

1.0 GENERAL:



The Shipyard Junior Planner / Estimator supports vessel repair, maintenance, and new-build projects by assisting in project planning, cost estimation, and resource coordination. This role works closely with production, engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure accurate budgeting, scheduling, and execution of shipyard activities.



2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Planning & Scheduling

• Assist in developing work breakdown structures (WBS) for ship repair or construction projects

• Prepare and update project schedules using planning software

• Coordinate with production supervisors to determine labor hours and sequencing

• Monitor project progress and update planning documentation accordingly

Estimating

• Review drawings, specifications, and scope of work to prepare cost estimates

• Perform material take-offs and labor hour calculations
