Machine Operator – Packing (Thirsk)

Location: Thirsk, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Pay: £15.07 per hour (including shift allowance) – annual salary £32,913
Hours: 42 per week (24/7 shifts)
Payment: hourly, paid monthly on the last Friday of each month

Shift Model

The Dupont schedule follows a four‑week cycle. Colleagues switch between day (05:30–17:30) and night (17:30–05:30) shifts, often within the same week, working three or four consecutive days. Workdays are interspersed with one to three consecutive days off, plus one block of seven days off during the four‑week period.

Responsibilities

• Package extruded kibble into specific bags for customers.
• Operate and set up machines, robots, and automated equipment in one of four cells.
• Carry out quality checks at hourly intervals and record results on paper‑based documents.
• Follow production guidelines to pack products correctly.
