Mechanical Component Sourcing Engineer

The Component Engineer works with sourcing, quality, and engineering to determine electronic component selection.He or she advises engineers and New Product Development teams on component costs, quality, obsolescence, replacements and multiple source issues while interfacing with internal stakeholders and contract manufacturers, as applicable.The key responsibilities are to ensure that components and suppliers are selected in accordance with global sourcing strategies, including cost, lifecycle, quality, and overall supply chain risk.Additionally, the individual will be responsible for identifying component substitutions in the event of supply disruptions and educating the organization on associated risks.He or she will partner with electrical (or mechanical) engineering, quality, and manufacturing to develop test plans and oversee manufacturing validation and verification of new components and suppliers.Finally, the individual will drive best practices around and the standardizatio...
