Job Description
The Pharmacy Data Technician accurately enters and processes new and refill prescriptions in a long-term care pharmacy setting, ensuring timely and error-free dispensing for nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes. This role combines high-volume data entry, prescription verification, and customer service while working closely with pharmacy systems and healthcare providers to support safe and efficient medication delivery.
Responsibilities

+ Enter new and refill prescriptions into the pharmacy operating system accurately and in a timely manner to prevent dispensing errors.

+ Triage and prioritize incoming fax prescriptions to support prompt and efficient dispensing.

+ Record clear and accurate notes in the computer system, including appropriate cycle fill coding.

+ Calculate and/or verify correct medication dosages based on prescription information.
