Role Description

Postdoctoral Researcher in Statistical Signal Processing

Aalto University’s Department of Information and Communications Engineering invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to conduct research in statistical signal processing. The role is within the Structured and Stochastic Modeling Group, led by Prof. Filip Elvander. The project focuses on modeling complex modern radio environments where diverse devices share the spectrum, with applications in cognitive and adaptive spectrum use, localization, and integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) for emerging 6G systems.

Research Focus: Optimal Transport for Inverse Problems

The project investigates the use of optimal transport theory to solve inverse problems applied to the radio spectrum. Optimal transport compares and interpolates distributions, offering flexibility and state‑of‑the‑art results in applied mathematics and machine learning. The goal is to develop a framework that provides powe...
