Power Engineer

Position description

Under the direction of the Manager of Building Maintenance and Heating Plant Operations, the incumbent will perform the following duties: Maintain and service high and low pressure steam distribution systems, condensate return systems, steam traps and compressed air systems. Duties include the maintenance and service of mechanical systems by:

Assist in the removal and prefabrication of piping; Repair steam traps, control valves, valves and strainers; Energize and de-energize steam mains as required for service purposes; Perform regular boiler maintenance which includes routine maintenance, minor repairs and maintenance on associated boiler equipment; Maintain a daily equipment log sheet and mandatory department of labour log book; Report major equipment problems to the Manager of Technical Services; Respond promptly to emergencies when on call; Perform maintenance on piping and valves and boiler cleaning during heating plant maintenance refits; ot...
