Role Description

We are currently recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in the Lowestoft area. This is a long-term role starting ASAP and running until July 2026, with both full-time and part-time positions available.
The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs and provides a structured, supportive, and nurturing environment focused on helping every child succeed.
Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
Support pupils’ learning, engagement, and emotional wellbeing
Assist teachers with the delivery of adapted and differentiated lessons
Support pupils with routines, transitions, and positive behaviour strategies
Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
Work closely with teaching staff, SEND teams, and pastoral staff
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
