Senior Backend Engineer — Backend Mentor

Job Description

• Serve as a Backend Mentor for the Apple Developer Institute for DevOps.
• Build and maintain reference backend services, APIs, and data models that students can adapt for their projects.
• Guide students in designing and maintaining APIs and services in a major language (Go, Python, Java, Node.js, or similar), with sound use of databases and attention to application architecture and performance.
• Run hands-on labs, workshops, and challenge-based learning sessions that simulate real production environments (feature delivery, debugging, load handling, incident drills, etc.).
• Introduce students to modern delivery practices - CI/CD pipelines and deploying services to the cloud.
