Senior Database Engineer

Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Canadian Banking Engineering - Database Services – Azure SQL & SQL Server Team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Design, develop & test enhancements and support MS SQL, Azure SQL DB and Azure MI database systems.
• Provide technical analyses and recommendations in terms of new solutions and supporting existing ones.
• Ability to translate meta data and/or requirements into a DB design and understand the impacts of the design in terms of DB performance so we can ensure the full solution is optimal.
