Senior Planner

The Opportunity

Senior Planner, exercising professional judgement, provides advice to Council, Administration, and the public on the orderly planning and growth of The City of Red Deer and applies accepted planning principles to the preparation and amendment of statutory plans, non‑statutory plans, land use bylaws, and subdivision plans consistent with the intent of the Municipal Government Act.

Top Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement planning policy and documents, including land use bylaws and statutory plans
• Provide expert guidance and recommendations to City Council, Municipal Planning Commission, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with municipal policies, the Municipal Government Act, and related regulations
