Role Description

The ing team plays a critical role in enabling Seagate’s advanced media technologies, including HAMR and next‑generation storage solutions. We develop, control, and optimize ultra‑high vacuum sputtering processes to fabricate complex thin‑film stacks with nanometer‑scale precision.

Working closely with global R&D, manufacturing, and data science teams, we translate materials science into scalable, high‑volume production, directly impacting media performance, yield, and reliability.
About the role - you will:
Develop and optimize sputtering processes to meet film performance, thickness, and material requirements.

Improve process capability, yield, and throughput through parameter optimization and equipment enhancements.

Monitor and control film quality and defect performance to ensure consistency in production.

Analyze process data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
