Underwriter - Environmental, Construction & Mining

Overview

AIG is reimagining the way we help customers manage risk. The role is an Environmental, Construction & Mining Casualty Underwriter responsible for underwriting and growing a profitable book of casualty business, servicing renewals, and generating new business opportunities in Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate, prioritize and underwrite casualty submissions within delegated authority.
• Analyze claims data and quantify loss trends to support pricing decisions.
• Communicate risk appetite and casualty value proposition to brokers.
• Collaborate with distribution and other line of business underwriters to target desirable accounts and cross‑selling opportunities.
• Work with brokers to understand deal structures, terms, and AIG Services that best meet client needs.
• Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients.
