Wellness Worker

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

• Provide liaison and advocacy with community members and front-line workers
• Provide individual, family and group addiction counselling and brief intervention
• By identifying community members strengths and skills to teach culturally relevant materials to other community members on request of services basis
• Assisting in debriefing sessions, community recovery and wellness initiatives
• Reviving the practice of using Elders to pass on their traditional teachings to children and youth
• Educate youth on the harms associated with drug and alcohol use
• Provide programming for healthy living, harm reduction and recovery to clients
• On call rotation

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Diploma in Addictions (Chemical Dependency), Mental Health & Wellness Diploma or related field
